As our small tight nit community continues to grow everyday, it’s important that we get clear on our core values and principles.

The clearer we are on our driving values, the better we can collectively support each other with one unified driven mindset and make a unique contribution in the world.

So let’s begin,

Who are we and what do we stand for?

1. We believe that the change we want to see with the people and environment around us begins first with change within us.

Most people blame others and never take responsibility for why they aren’t living the life they really desire—not us!

We understand that the current state of our life is simply a reflection of our internal state.

We take full responsibility for everything both good and bad. We live proactively with clear intentions and not reactively as victims.

As we improve our internal mindset, we trust that we will naturally become better at our work, personal relationships, leadership and life as a whole.

2. We believe that taking good care of our health is non-negotiable for living and leading effectively.

Living healthy is a lifestyle and not a one-off event.

Whilst developing a nice physique and good aesthetics is fair game, we primarily focus on continuously improving our health for our entire lifetime.

We understand that our health is the petrol in the car that will help us drive to and achieve our goals in good time. And so, we make sure to eat healthy, exercise regularly and take care of our bodies as a whole.

3. We believe in complete integrity and authenticity in business, work and life.

We believe that our dealings with others must be done with integrity.

We are fully transparent, fair, honest and upfront in all interactions.

We steer clear of dishonest manipulative strategies for personal gain.

We are authentic. We don’t shy away from letting the world know exactly who we are and what we stand for.

“We think differently and are crazy enough to believe that we can change the world”.

4. We believe that consistency, not magic formulas is the key to success in anything in life.

We understand that if we simply lay a small brick everyday eventually it will become the big castle we dream of.

We understand that if we deliberately practice and work on our craft consistently, we will eventually achieve mastery and create great work.

We believe that success is a simple and straightforward process. If you consistently put in the work day in and out over a length of time, you will achieve your goals.

We ignore any promises or temptations of getting extraordinary results very quickly with little effort or consistency.

We keep our head low and grind daily.

5. We believe in being professionals not amateurs in everything we do.

In Steven Pressfields’ book, The War of Art , he outlines the difference between amateurs who make little headway in their work versus the professionals who create great work.

Here’s a quick snippet…

“The amateur plays for fun. The professional plays for keeps.

To the amateur, the game is his avocation. To the pro it’s his vocation.

The amateur plays part-time, the professional full-time.

The amateur is a weekend warrior. The professional is there seven days a week.”

A professional doesn’t rely on motivation to take action. A professional doesn’t wait for the perfect conditions or to ‘feel good’ before taking action.

A professional shows up everyday and puts in their shift regardless of rain, thunder or sunshine because it is part of their core identity.

Whatever we commit to —exercise, health, business, work, art, sports, leadership and more—we always show up as professionals.

6. We believe in becoming better in all key areas of our lives.

We avoid staying stagnant and comfortable.

We are always pushing ourselves outside our comfort zone, pushing the boundaries of what is possible and facing our fears.

We believe there is always room for improvement in everything we do and so we strive to better ourselves everyday.

7. We believe in celebrating and being grateful for life.

We regularly take time off to celebrate and reflect on the progress we’ve made so far.

We understand that our time alive is limited with no guarantee of tomorrow, so we are grateful for being alive right now.

8. We believe in embracing failures and imperfections.

We understand that perfection is an unrealistic pressure to put on ourselves.

We embrace failure and imperfections because we know it is simply a part of the journey towards achieving our dreams.

Instead of searching for the perfect start, decision and solution, we simply take that brave imperfect step.

9. We believe in living for something bigger than ourselves.

We believe that we are inherently born for a reason and a purpose of impact before we pass away.

We live a purpose driven life and stay in alignment with it no matter what life throws at us.

We believe in God, a higher power or intuition that is our guiding light towards our purpose.

10. We believe in contributing and giving back to the less privileged.

We understand that the less privileged—uneducated children, homeless and so on— do not have the capacity to live out their dreams.

We contribute and give back to these groups not out of pity, but simply because we know that we can truly make a difference in their lives.

We know that in another reality, if we were suffering, we would desperately need the support from the privileged.

RECAP

A community without core driving values is like a crew on a ship setting sail without a plan. The odds of success are extremely low.

These 10 core values are our roadmap.

They help us move forward towards our final destination with one common powerful collective mindset.

They will keep us on track even when life gets tough and everything around us seems to be falling apart.

Most importantly, these core values will collectively drive us to make our mark on this world.
